Au cœur du vieux hameau , Il Portico allie confort et élégance et possède terrasse couverte accessible par la cuisine.
L'entrée à la villa Il Portico se fait par deux marches de pierre et une porte en chêne ancienne qui s'ouvre sur le séjour. Celui-ci est équipé de la télévision satellite, d'un lecteur CD, d'un canapé convertible trois places et d'un poêle à bois.
Devant, deux commodes anciennes décorent la salle à manger de style toscan. On peut y manger à 4 personnes.
À droite, on trouve la cuisine toute équipée (plaque de cuisson au gaz 4 feux, réfrigérateur/freezer, four micro-ondes, lave-vaisselle, grille-pain et machine à café). Dans la cuisine, on peut manger à 4 personnes.
Dans la cuisine, une porte donne sur le côté est du hameau. On y trouve une terrasse couverte, idéale pour dîner en extérieur tout en profitant des senteurs de la Toscane.
À droite, trois marches vous mènent à un petit hall avec coffre qui donne sur une chambre triple et une salle de bain. Cette grande chambre est équipée d'un lit double et d'un lit simple qui, quand il ne sert pas, est utilisé comme canapé. À côté, on trouve une salle de bain avec douche.
À 60 mètres de la piscine.

Un des monuments nationaux d'Italie, Montefienali émergea au milieu de XIIIe siècle en tant que relais isolé sur une ancienne voie romaine en direction du Chianti. Suite à un projet de restauration de deux ans, Montefienali est de nouveau le lieu idéal pour le repos et la récupération du corps et de l'esprit, ainsi que l'endroit rêvé pour vous éloigner de tout.
La situation surélevée de Montefienali est idéale pour sa double piscine. La première piscine fait 15 mètres sur 7,5 et la petite piscine pour enfants fait 1 mètre de profondeur. Les piscines sont ouvertes d'avril à octobre. Des lits de bain et des parasols complètent le jardin et les terrasses, pour former un espace idéal pour la détente au soleil ou la contemplation de la superbe vue du hameau et des villages perchés sur leurs collines en contrebas.
Sélection de maisons individuelles d'ambiance locale attrayante, avec sols en terre cuite, plafonds à poutres apparentes et mobilier traditionnel, et jardin et terrasse privatifs et ensoleillés, offrant une vue sur les collines de la campagne toscane. Le cadre est idéal pour les bains de soleil comme pour les dîners en plein air.
Tous les dimanches de juillet et d'août se tient le bal de Monteluco, à 4 km de Montefienali.

Infos Piscine
La piscine surplombe le hameau et offre des vues spectaculaires des toits et des collines en contrebas. Vous atteignez les jardins de la piscine en empruntant l'allée de pierre qui monte en traversant le hameau. La piscine fait 15 mètres sur 7 mètres cinquante et 1,5 m de profondeur. Le bassin des enfants fait 1 mètre de profondeur et elle est ouverte d'avril à octobre.
Les piscines sont entourées de pelouses en terrasse, ensoleillées toute la journée. L'espace piscine est meublé avec des lits de bain et des parasols. L'endroit est idéal pour se détendre au soleil et admirer la vue merveilleuse des pinèdes, des vignobles et des oliveraies.
Ville la plus proche
Le restaurant le plus proche est à 5 km dans le village de Starda. Et le village le plus proche pour faire des courses se trouve à 12 km dans San Gusme, alors que les villes du Chianti, Gaiole et Radda se situent à 15 km et 22 km respectivement.

Un cadre magnifique, au milieu de la nature. Très tranquille et une piscine magnifique, très bien aménagée qui peut accueillir pas mal de monde sans problème. Vraiment, un lieu où nous avons pu trouver énormément de repos. De plus bien situé pour pouvoir facilement découvrir l'ensemble de la région du Chianti.

Merci pour votre site et votre organisation. Lorsque l'on aime l'Italie, et la Toscane en particulier, je pense que vous êtes vraiment le site de référence et incontournable pour trouver des logements de qualité et organiser des vacances réussies. Nous envisageons déjà de peut être passer de nouveau nos vacances en Toscane l'année prochaine.Et je n'imagine pas passer par un autre site que le votre. Encore, merci.

Quels ont été les point forts de vos vacances? L'hébergement, le site avec la piscine également très bien entretenue La Toscane, région absolument magnifique.
Quelle est votre impression générale concernant l'hébergement? Parfaite, maison superbe, très propre, très bien entretenue dans un cadre merveilleux ; nous avons eu un peu peur en arrivant le premier jour car le site est très isolé (nous le savions mais nous avons quand même été surpris !) mais lorsque nous avons découvert la maison et le hameau, nous avons tout de suite été sous le charme. En plus tout était prêt pour que l'on se sente bien dans la maison (lits faits, linge de toilette nickel, savonnettes...)
Avez vous eu de mauvaises surprises? Aucune, excepté les moustiques très nombreux même le matin !!!! Mais nous étions prévenus.
Avez vous d'autres commentaires? Nous recommanderons vivement votre site et la location à Montefienali à nos amis ; juste une réserve, nous n'avons vu personne lors de notre arrivée ni lors de notre départ. Comme tout s'est bien passé cela ne nous a pas posé de pb, mais cela nous a un peu surpris.

What were the highlights of your stay? The countryside was beautiful The food at local restaurants was very good The walking was very plesant.
What was your overall impression of the accommodation? We stayed at Nonna C in Montifinali the Accommodation was clean and tidy The metall stairs and the mezanine area in Nonna C at Montifinali were not used by us but were potentially dangerous for children.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? We had no electriciy on returning one evening. There was no information in the book about fuse boxes. Fortunately one of the neighbours told us about the fuses which were near the internet station.
Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service? The bed room was clean with a good comfortable bed. The kitchen was good but we did not have any food to cook. it was not clear what we should do with the key when we left. The information book in the property was good in parts but could have been clearer. It would have been good if we had got in advance 1:50000 scale maps of the area. We did buy a map in Florence but it was not very good

Thank you for your comments regarding the stairs to the mezzanine area - we state the following on the website with regards to the stairs - "The stairs are very steep, this attic style room has ceiling heights from 1.20 mtr to 1.80 mtr, the stairs and room are not suitable for young children or the elderly"

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs? Jeder Tag war ein Higlhlight für uns.......ob Touren ins Umland, mit den wunderschönen Städten oder unser Dorf Montefienali. Einfach mal auf der Terasse sitzen und die Seele baumeln lassen.
Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck von der Unterbringung? Sehr sauber und ordentlich. Das Haus ist mit viel Liebe ins Detail und Geschmack eingerichtet. Alles ist sehr gepflegt und im sehr guten Zustand. Wir haben uns auf Anhieb sehr wohl gefühlt. Wer Ruhe sucht, der hat sie dort gefunden. Selbst das Dorf ist in einen sehr angenehmen und ordentlichen Zustand. Es ist eine Freude, mit welch Liebe und Fleiß es wieder aufgebaut wurde. Von dort hat man einen wunderschönen Ausblick in die Ferne. Wir staunten, das wir auch mal ohne Fernseher, Internet und Handy auskamen. Zu unserem Alltag war es diesmal absolute Ruhe und Entspannung pur! Wir haben uns noch nie so erholt, wie bei Euch!
Gab es unangenehme Überraschungen? Zum Glück keine! Wir kommen auch aus einer ländlichen Gegend, aber diese Tierwelt hat uns überrascht. Eine Vielfalt allein an Schmetterlingen habe ich außer in einen Museum noch nicht gesehen..........

Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck von der Unterbringung? phantstischer ort - Küche und damit auch Hauptaufenthalt im Haus sehr dunkel und ungemütlich - zum Glück nur gutes Wetter und immer vorm Haus und am sehr schönen Pool
Gab es unangenehme Überraschungen? nicht wirklich - für manche ist die Fahrt zum Ort schon Stress - für uns als Berggewohnte eher Vergnügen

what was your overall impression of the accommodation? Excellent with respect to the quality of the property. Well appointed and with plenty of things available to make the living easy! A problem - the remoteness of the property could be better advertised. We found it just a bit too far away from civilisation for convenience - but that's just us!
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? Not unpleasant, but we were surprised by the fact that we were one of only 4 or so families in the hamlet that week. The atmosphere was affected by this, but not unduly so.

A problem - the remoteness of the property could be better advertised. We found it just a bit too far away from civilisation for convenience - but that's just us!

It’s a long way to Italy from New Zealand, but I wish we could do it regularly. Our time in Italy, in Chianti at Montefienali and in this apartment in particular has been incredible. We adore this little borgo and have appreciated so much the many extra and considerable touches provided in Casa della nonna B. A fabulous little villa in a truly marvelous part of the world.

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs? Neben den "üblichen" Reiseführerempfehlungen haben wir diesmal auch viele kleine Orte besucht und viele schöne Entdeckungen gemacht. Ganz besonders hat uns das Schloss Brolio gefallen. Eine wunderschöne Anlage. In manchen Orte, wie z.B. auch in San Vincenti hat man uns sogar die Kirche aufgeschlossen und wir konnten uns umsehen.
Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck von der Unterbringung? Das Haus war wunderschön und wir haben uns dort sehr wohlgefühlt. Die gesamte Anlage hat uns sehr gut gefallen.
Gab es unangenehme Überraschungen? Wir hatten 2x Stromausfall. Beim ersten Mal sind wir gegen 20.00 Uhr von einem Ausflug zurückgekommen und haben dann telefonisch niemenden erreichen können. Nachts war der Strom wieder da. Beim zweiten Mal haben wir es früher gemerkt, konnten auch jemanden erreichen, der uns den Weg zum Sicherungskasten beschrieben hat.
Haben Sie andere Anmerkungen? Wir wollten gerne Olivenöl und Wein direkt vom Hersteller kaufen. Im Laden lag ein Prospekt von einem Wein- und Olivenölhersteller in Licci aus. Als wir dort ankamen, stellte sich heraus, dass kein Direktverkauf erfolgt. Vielleicht könnten Sie interresierten Gästen Hinweise geben, wo ein direkter Kauf dieser Produkte möglich ist. Wir waren dann noch in San Vincenti, was ja gleich "um die Ecke" ist.

Overall impression: Absolutely fantastic. The property had been renovated to a very high standard, but the great features were the choice of balconies, tables to eat at, and the views from the property. Its remote location made it not the best base for touring Tuscany, and the road to it was steep, but this was made clear in the comments of other people who had stayed there.

Overall impression: Very good. La Terrazza was even better than the photo's and description on the website. The big advantage of this apartment is the little garden area which feels very private and has a beautiful view. Inside is very
cosy and more spacious than you think. It also stayed lovely cool inside. La Terrazza is also perfectly situated in relation to the pool. Last I would like to mention that we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel, they provide a wonderful service, have free internet access, beautiful simple Italian food and give you all the help you need.

doctor.

We have just returned from our week’s holiday to Montefienali and I wanted to write and tell you what a lovely time we all had. The place is really beautiful, well-tended and a true delight. Our accommodation was perfect, the beds were really comfortable and the views around the property were astounding, we just couldn’t have asked for more. The hamlet isn’t easy to get to but that is a very small price to pay for the experience of staying in such a wonderful spot. We even saw wild boar and deer.
We were very lucky because our two girls met up with another family who had two children of the same age, absolutely perfect. They spent a lot of time playing in the gorgeous pool or running freely round the hamlet. As you park your car at the bottom of the approach road it was perfectly safe to wander about without any worry of traffic at all. A true delight for parents and marvellous for our children too as for once they were able to have the freedom to roam and we could let them do so without a worry.
Katerina in the on site hotel was very pleasant and helpful and the place was just perfect. We had a wonderful week in June and just wish it could have been two.

Overall impression: It was WONDERFUL! I will definately be going back there some day, if i can. It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been and everything was in perfect working order. So nice!! And I can't thank the people who work at Montefienali enough for all their help and their excellent service.
Highlights: It was staying at La Terrazza :-) I didn't think it would be that secluded when I booked it, but it was actually really nice that it was. So peaceful and quiet on top of a mountain, I almost didn't want to go out and see the rest of Tuscany :-)
Unpleasant surprises: Not really, the only thing which was a bit of a disturbance was that next to us stayed an american family with about 1 million children, who were rather noisy. The didn't seem to go anywhere, except running around the villas and throwing big stones down on the path below right in front of our house, and they were very difficult to get to stop doing it. It really seemed out of place in this peaceful place on top of the mountain, where everything else was so calm and harmonic. But this was really the only little bit of nuisance we experienced, so it was not a big deal...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Montefienali at the beginning of June. Although we knew the hamlet was kind of remote, we didn't realise exactly how isolated it was. Those windy, steep roads are not for the faint hearted!
However the hamlet was absolutely charming, the views spectacular, our apartment spacious, well presented and included everything we could possibly need. We absolutely loved ending a day's sightseeing with a dip in the pool, followed by a glass of vino on the terrazza! Absolute bliss.
Our favourite places were the smaller, quieter, hill towns. San Gusme, with it's charming quiet streets and view, was a definite favourite. It was wonderful to see the village waken up at night when everyone ventured outdoors to the bars/restaurants.
All in all a fantastic holiday and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend/use To Tuscany again. Service, accommmodation descriptions, driving directions were spot on. Well done.

Overall impression: We loved it! We think it was the best house in the hamlet and the whole week was very relaxing. The staff in the nearby hotel wetre extremely helpful and friendly, and on the few occasions that we met Lorenzo he was also very polite and friendly. The access road seems a bit "challenging" at first but we soon got used to it. The house is ideally situated for enjoying the sun during the day (with one side always in the sun and one side always offering shade), and the terrace and barbecue were very useful for gentle alfresco dining (and enjoying the local wine products!).
Highlights: The peace and tranquility of the hamlet, the sounds of the birds singing and the wild boar in the woods. We were determined to try and see some of the wild boar as we had been told that they often came foraging in the hamlet during the night. One night we stayed up until 01:30 and we managed to see a group of a mother and three babies emerge from near the chapel after we had been listening to them rustling among the woods for some time. It was fantastic!
Unpleasant surprises: The very large wasps were something of a surprise - especially when they come in through your bedroom window in the morning!
To be practical, we would recommend installing fly-screens on the doors and windows [Our comment - we are liasing with the owner to do as suggest] as the insects could be a little troublesome and the weather as so hot that it became a compromise between suffocating in the heat during the night or leaving the windows open to be invaded by many insects.
Overall, we really enjoyed staying at Montefienali. So much so that we will be booking up for next year this weekend - and we will stay for two weeks this time!

We loved San Gimigniano and Monteriggione, Siena, Pisa and Arezzo. We enjoyed the wonderful Italian people and the food and wine. And we really enjoyed our apartment in Montefienali, it was away from all places crammed with tourists and very peaceful and relaxing. We even saw a sow with cubs one evening.

The views from the property were wonderful and it was so peaceful. The sound of birdsong during the day, the chirp of crickets and rustling of larger creatures moving through the forests made the place feel particularly special. During the first week we thought we were the only folk there it was so quiet - had anyone else actually heard of this place? We had a number of lovely walks locally - the flowers and butterflies were beautiful in May.
Saw plenty of wildlife including an owl just by the chapel near the property and a snake minding its own business near Castello di Broglio. We also had a number of great days out at San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Montepulciano, Montalcino and Siena to name a few.
The fresh produce (very cheap) was marvellous and the wines were very nice
and reasonably priced. At one point we actually though they’d got the price wrong on one bottle - but no, it was right!
We had a great time and many good experiences - we will be back!

If I had a "dislike", I would say that Gusme having the nearest shop, was
just a little too far to go for bread for breakfast. But we learned to
manage.
I found the site on the internet when browsing looking for self catering
accomodation in Tuscany
I thing the location is excellent for visiting such great places as Sienna,
Assissi, San Gimminano Volterra,and Florence, all of which we so enjoyed.
The local markets were great fun, and we bought many items of fresh fruit,
and good value in leather goods.
The nicest of all for us was relaxing by the pool in the lovely sunshine,
and listening to the cicaddas in the evening.
We had no nasty surprises, in fact the opposite. The quality of the
accomodation, the helpfulness of the staff and the opportunity to relax and
enjoy the peace (and chianti) made it memorable for us.

Le site est très beau. Superbe piscine avec vue sur les collines toscanes. Bon emplacement pour rayonner dans la région .De plus, le propriétaire était très agréable et discret, juste ce qu'il faut!nous avons apprécie son attention pour notre arrivée : une bonne bouteille de Chianti! Au niveau du logement : très bon équipement , tout était fourni.
