Casa Caidominici is a large, beautifully restored 15th Century stone farmhouse set in a stunning location close to the town of Pietralunga in Umbria. Accommodating up to 16 adults, across three ‘self-sufficient’ parts of the house, this lovely property is perfect for large groups of friends or families with a varied age range who wish to holiday together and still have their own private space.
The large infinity pool located on the south side of the property is the ideal place to swim, sunbathe and relax taking in the wonderful views. The property is surrounded by a well maintained formal garden and terraces with Cyprus and olive trees, fruit orchard and vegetable/herb garden. This flows seamlessly into the Italian countryside all around.
The owners have recently restored the building using only local Umbrian craftsmen who have retained much of the original fabric of the house, and have only used traditional local building materials to reinstate the villa. Inside, the property is spread over three floors and unfolds over three separate areas, two of which connect internally if required. As a brief summary the overall property includes 8 bedrooms (most ensuite), 3 kitchens, and 5 ‘living’ areas.
Finished to a very high standard with top quality fixtures and fittings, the interior has been furnished with antiques and collectables from the owners travels with some stunning modern features and up to the minute design ideas. The ground floor houses a grand double height entrance hall. The main kitchen/breakfast room is extremely spacious, has a bespoke modern stainless steel design and is very well equipped with large ‘American’ style fridge, 2 ovens, dishwasher and of course an automatic expresso machine!
On the same floor is the formal dining room with open fire, a separate bar (honesty wine storage) and games room (with table football) and laundry room. There is also access to a self contained ‘apartment’, which has a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (rain shower and bath) as well as it’s own fully equipped kitchen, living area with open fireplace and outside private patio.
On the first floor of the house is the main double height living room with oversized sofa and armchairs arranged in front of the large open fireplace - adjoining this room is a small library/study.
A separate TV/music entertainment room with plasma TV and top of the range surround sound system (as well as Sky and Nintendo Wii), including a selection of DVD’s and CD’s for you to use, is a great place for the children/teenagers to gather while the adults have their own time.
There are two double bedrooms on this floor with an interconnecting bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a freestanding roll top bath in which to soak up the views.
As part of the owner’s “suite”, the Case Privata on the first floor also includes another kitchen, living room and outside covered dining portico furnished with outside fire place. This Casa Privata must be hired only as part of the entire house if required. Both the ground floor and the first floor have stone or terracotta floors with under-floor heating throughout.
The second floor of the main house has a further four bedrooms (3 doubles and 1 twin) with oak flooring, each with its own ensuite bathroom (or adjoining bathroom in the case of the twin). The twin room also doubles up as a children’s dorm and can take a further two beds if required.
The bathroom adjoining this room includes a double shower and an animal’s trough where up to 4 people can line up to brush their teeth! The master bedroom is located on this floor and has a large four poster double bed, ensuite walk-in shower room and freestanding roll top bath from which you again have fantastic views across the Italian countryside.
The Casa Private has a bedroom “suite” on the top floor also including a private terrace. Caidominici is also very well equipped outside. Well maintained grounds provide a wonderful area to relax in, and for those who are more energetic, as well as the fantastic swimming pool there is also a full size tennis court and ‘competition size’ bocce court.
Directly from the property there are miles of hiking and mountain biking (4 bikes at the property) trails providing a perfect way to enjoy the rolling hills and unspoiled views. It is also possible to organise horse riding and micro lighting locally, and there is an eighteen hole golf course only thirty minutes drive away www.antognollagolf.com
A beautifully restored farmhouse finished to a very high standard with flexible accommodation, for groups of friends or large families.
There are plenty of areas around the property where you can sit and enjoy a glass of the local wine or escape with a good book

Set in well maintained formal gardens with Cyprus and olive trees, a small fruit orchard and vegetable/herb garden is the stunning ‘black slate’ infinity pool. Located on the south side of the property it is the ideal place to swim, sunbathe and relax overlooking the wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.
The pool is twenty metres in length with infinity edges that seem to fall away into the valley. There is also a tennis court and bocce court, mountain bikes and walking tracks. Also a big-hit is the outside traditional pizza oven where you can make your own pizzas following all that exercise, and savour a well deserved glass of Italian bubbly.
The pool is 20 meters by 5 meters. Depth varies, it is 2.5 mts in the deep end. The pool is open from April to October weather permitting.

The property is located a short ten minute drive (5Kms) from the local town of Pietralunga where there is a bakery, butchers, tobacco shop, supermarket, pharmacy a selection of cafes and restaurants. Every Friday there is a market in the Piazza where it is possible to buy fresh fruit and vegetables, wine, truffles, eggs, honey and other locally produced products directly from the various farms in the area.

Yes there are 2 furnished terraces and many outdoor eating areas in particular an outdoor pizza oven where you can make your own Italian pizza.

Le site est très beau. Superbe piscine avec vue sur les collines toscanes. Bon emplacement pour rayonner dans la région .De plus, le propriétaire était très agréable et discret, juste ce qu'il faut!nous avons apprécie son attention pour notre arrivée : une bonne bouteille de Chianti! Au niveau du logement : très bon équipement , tout était fourni.
